Business Support comes to the doorsteps of Crowborough Businesses
Barnsgate Manor Vineyard, near Uckfield, played host to local businesses on Wednesday, 1st November, to launch ProfitNet, a University of Brighton learning networks programme.
Attended by managing directors and owners of local businesses, senior council representatives and the university, the celebration launched the start of ProfitNet in this part of the county. Already running successfully in Hastings with over 100 members, the university is expanding the programme across East Sussex to provide access to as many SMEs as possible. Establishing a ProfitNet group around the Crowborough area gives businesses the chance to stay local while accessing the support and services they need as well as furthering the reputation of the area.
Based on the idea of getting business operating in similar environments to work together to find solutions to common problems, ProfitNet takes the concept of networking to a completely different level.
The event itself was well attended by local business leaders with all eligible businesses signing up for the programme. The turn out by local business was impressive with companies ranging from landscape gardeners, IT, graphic design, web development, construction to marketing firms, all were eager to take part in the programme, delighted to have it available on their doorstep.
Dr Andrew Toal, Head of Business Services, at the University of Brighton said;
"I am very pleased to see so many people willing to come and work with the University. Hearing existing ProfitNet members talk about the real business benefits they have enjoyed is compelling. This next wave of ProfitNet expansion is being driven by the needs of the SME's who join and we look forward to working with them."
